Vintage 50s 60s Kids Mary Maxim Cardigan Sweater Hand Knit Wool Snowflake Pattern 457 Size 5 unisex

Vintage 50's/60's Mary Maxim Sweater Cardigan in a snowflake pattern. Canada's
iconic cowichan style sweaters have stood the test of time, wonderfully warm
and sturdy. I couldn't find this exact pattern in the Mary Maxim library but my
best guess is the pattern was modified or it could have been from a differnet
graph knitting pattern maker.


I purchased this from the original owner who's sister wore this in the late
fifties, this is a four ply wool in a tight knit. Red snowflakes with black
lines border the lower half of the sweater.. Shawl collar with raglan sleeves,
the zipper is an old metal lightning brand.
This is in good vintage condition, there are no holes or open seams, the wool
is holding it's shape well. There is one area on the front where it looks like
a few stitches were dropped and it has been repaired from the back, I have
shown this in the video as well as the second last frame. The zipper is old and
is showing some fray at the top part at the neckline but it still works very
well. Hand washed with a lanolin wool wash to condition the wool and freshen,
it is ready to wear.

I feel this falls in to the kids size 7-8 range. For an accurate fit please
refer to the last diagram for a measurement chart. Measure and compare to your
childs measurements adding 2-3 inches to the circumference measurements for
layers, growth and wiggle room.Alternatively you can compare to a sweater of
your own

Sleeve- 23 Inches

Length-19 Inches (measure from back collar seam area to hem)

Waist at bottom-32 inches full circumference
